DeChantal <br /> Excavating LLC <br /> 12209 State Hwy 18 • PO Box 315 • Brainerd • MN • 56401 <br /> 218-828-4636 <br /> September 22, 2014 <br /> To Whom it May Concern: <br /> DeChantal Excavating, LLC respectfully requests an extension for the following project 2014 North <br /> Washington Avenue Improvements- City of Pequot Lakes with a current substantial completion date <br /> of September 26, 2014 and a current final completion date of October 29, 2014 for the following <br /> reasons: <br /> 1. On August 22"d we gave notice to our concrete subcontractor, Beach Construction, that <br /> they could begin work on the retaining wall on or about August 28`h. Beach Construction <br /> explained to us they could not get started on the project until September 15th due to the <br /> amount of rain and rains days they experienced in August, basically they were two weeks <br /> behind. We immediately tried contacting and subcontracting the concrete work to <br /> another subcontractor. We talked to Knife Lake Concrete first and they were in the same <br /> predicament. We then contacted Ferber, Inc. on August 26t and he stated they were <br /> available and could get right on the job, so we scheduled them to start August 29`h or <br /> September 2"d. That was the last contact we had with them as thereafter they would not <br /> return our phone calls. We rescheduled with Beach Construction for the September 15t <br /> start date as continued calls to any concrete subcontractor produced the same result- all <br /> were behind with work and unable to accommodate an additional work load. Based on <br /> this challenge please accept our revised completion date. <br /> Please accept our revised substantial completion date of October 15, 2014 and a final completion date of <br /> October 31, 2014. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> A DeChantal <br /> President <br /> DeChantal Excavating, LLC <br />
