Pequot Lakes Police Dept. <br /> Report to the City Council <br /> April 30, 2008 <br /> L. <br /> For the month of April the Department logged a total of 402 individual ICRs. <br /> Current Activities: <br /> The Reserves, Part time and Full time Officers conducted 501 individual business and home security <br /> checks throughout the month, with 2 open doors found. <br /> The Department has just completed the sale of the two motorcycles that were forfeited in 2006 and <br /> 2007. The winning bid for the Honda was $1 ,500 and the Harley went for $7,210. The State receives <br /> 10% for running the auction and after other expenses like towing charges and title transfer fees the city <br /> splits the net proceeds with the Criminal City Attorney, according to State Statute. <br /> Trainings Attended: <br /> Mar. 27 - 28th: Officer Petersen attended a BCA sponsored training called NetSmartz, which <br /> specializes in training officers to investigate cases involving Internet chat rooms, <br /> MySpace, Facebook, etc. <br /> Mar. 29th: Reserve Officers; Craig & Julie Friday, Carl Borleis and Garrett Wedan, along <br /> -- with Officer Petersen attended the annual MN Reserve Officer Association <br /> Conference, where they were present the Quarterly Spotlight award. <br /> Apr. 3rd: Fulltime and Part-time Officers along with Officers from Hackensack and Cass <br /> County attended the mandatory annual Hazmat, Blood Born pathogen, Use of <br /> Force and FATS training here at City Hall from 1 - 5 pm. At 6 pm the Reserve <br /> Officers joined them at the Pequot Lakes High School for 3 hours of Defensive <br /> Tactics training. <br /> Upcoming Training: <br /> May 6th: All Full and Part-time Officers along with Officers from the Mille Lacs Police Dept <br /> will participate in a firearms training at Camp Ripley. The Officers will have the <br /> opportunity to qualify in rifles, handguns and shotguns, using state of the art <br /> military equipment.
