`-' Pequot Lakes Fire Department <br /> Relief Association <br /> 2008 Annual Meeting <br /> January 6, 2008 <br /> Members Present: Bob Peterson, Neil Casanova, Larry Oaks, Dan Loven, Dave <br /> Szymanski, Tom Nelson, Daren Nordby, Jeremie Bridge, Roger Varilek, Mike Peterson, <br /> Brian Evenson, Patrick Selter, Dan Cerise, John Wasserbauer, Kevin Wendt, Scott <br /> Warner, Cathy Malecha, SandyPeine, Jim Oraskovich, Kirk Larson. <br /> I. Call to Order <br /> Meeting was called to order by Larry Oaks, President <br /> Minutes of the January 10, 2007 meeting were read by Patrick Selter, Secretary <br /> Motion to approve minuets was made by Kevin Wendt, second by Mike Peterson <br /> Motion passed unanimously <br /> Secretary report: <br /> 1. Clean Audit From Larson Allen. Many new forms were required by them. Kirk <br /> and Larry spent approximately 30 hours combined with meetings, paperwork. <br /> 2. We attended a four hour course at CLC put on by the state auditor. The state is <br /> beginning to deny state aid to those that do not conform to statutes <br /> 3. Updated Bylaws to conform to state statutes. Many of the old bylaws needed to <br /> be changed. Rather than modify and complicate the old ones we opted to draft <br /> new ones based upon the recommendations of the auditor. <br /> 4. Relief File Cabinet we will continue to update as we organize several years of <br /> documents. We will continue to place relevant information. <br /> 5. Larry was able to find cheaper insurance from the League of Cities by working <br /> with the City. <br /> 6. David Lenz was due to be paid in 2007. We have not been able to locate him and <br /> as stated in the statutes and new bylaws we will need to receive a written request <br /> before releasing the funds. <br /> 7. Nolan Saxvold was paid in 2007 <br /> 8. Legislative updates. There is a working group that is fighting to keep legislation <br /> favoring firefighters in regards to retirement. <br /> Motion by Tom Nelson to accept the secretary's report. Seconded by Neil Casanova <br /> Treasurers Report <br /> 1. Larry Oaks and Patrick Selter presented several financial documents. <br /> Expenses for 2007 totaled $24,432.35. Income from State aid , Municipal <br /> contributions, and Interest totaled $80,296.08 Assets as of January 1 2008 <br /> totaled $744,076.68 <br />
