ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br /> MINUTES <br /> APRIL 8, 2008 <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Ed Larsen, Patrick Smith, Mark Jurchen, Justin Bolz- <br /> Andolshek, Nancy Adams <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Mayor Cathy Malecha, City Clerk Sandy Peine, Zoning <br /> Administrator Dawn Bittner, Sheila Haverkamp, Chuck <br /> Marohn, Water/Wastewater Supervisor Gary Giltner, City <br /> Engineer Tim Houle, Council Member Dave Sjoblad, <br /> Planning Commissioner Tommy Woog, Planning <br /> Commissioner Scott Pederson, Street/Park Supervisor Mike <br /> Loven, Council Member Tom Ryan, Council Member Jim <br /> Oraskovich <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chair Ed Larsen at 8:00 a.m. <br /> 2. Consider March 18, 2008, EDC Minutes <br /> Nancy Adams indicated that she had a correction to the motion relating to the <br /> downtown plan. She indicated that the motion should state as follows: <br /> "The EDC strongly supports the immediate passage of the downtown plan. It is <br /> the suggestion of the EDC that after passage, a committee of the EDC, City <br /> Council, business representative and planning and zoning representative be <br /> formed to promote the implementation of the plan. " <br /> After discussion it was the consensus of the EDC to add this item to the May EDC <br /> agenda and if it is the decision of the EDC to accept this amendment to the <br /> motion, then a new motion be formed and presented to the Council. <br /> NANCY ADAMS MOVED TO APPROVE THE MARCH 18, 2008, <br /> MINUTES. MARK JURCHEN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 3. Business Park Expansion Discussion <br /> Chair Ed Larsen gave the group some history on the start of the existing park and <br /> how it was acquired. Sheila Haverkamp reviewed the background on the existing <br /> business park from a handout titled "Pequot Lakes Business Park Analysis — Draft <br /> April 2008." The EDC discussed the possibility of a business park expansion <br /> since the City-owned lots have all been sold. <br />
