MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br /> TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2022 <br /> Members Present: Chair Lottman; Commissioners Becklin, Holley, and Rieck <br /> Members Absent: Commissioner Hallan, Lelwica, and Lubke <br /> Others Present: Angie Duus, City Clerk/Treasurer; Kurt Stumpf, Pequot Lakes <br /> School District Superintendent; Mark Jurchen <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chair Lottman at 8:00 a.m. <br /> 2. Consider Agenda <br /> Commissioner Rieck added 10.1 "Welcoming Communities"to the agenda. <br /> CHAIR LOTTMAN MOVED TO ADD 10.1 WELCOMING COMMUNITIES <br /> UPDATE TO THE AGENDA AS AMENDED. COMMISSIONER HOLLEY <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> COMMISSIONER RIECK MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA AS AMENDED. <br /> COMMISSIONER HOLLEY SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 3. Approve EDC Minutes <br /> COMMISSIONER HOLLEY MOVED TO APPROVE THE XXXXX, 2022, <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MINUTES AS PRESENTED. <br /> COMMISSIONER RIECK SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED <br /> 4-0. <br /> 4. School Update <br /> Kurt Stumpf informed the Commission that there has been an increase in <br /> enrollment. He said the increase is more than projected especially in the <br /> high school. He said they are doing a demographic study with <br /> Demographer Hazel Reinhart. He said she will be presenting in the <br /> beginning of October. He said there are 11 students in Patriot Academy <br /> which is the bridge program between early childhood and Kindergarten. He <br /> is hoping to expand the opportunities in the early childhood program. <br /> Mr. Stumpf stated the first Facility Study meeting was last night and five <br /> more meetings are scheduled. He said there were forty-eight people that <br /> attended. He said the next meeting is Monday night and anyone is <br /> welcome to attend. He said they will be taking a tour of the buildings and <br /> stated a comprehensive look at everything is important. <br /> He informed the EDC that Safe &Supportive Schools starts next <br /> Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. at the high school. He said they are working with <br /> Tad Erickson and reminded the EDC they received a grant of$15,000 for <br /> the planning. He said there will be a lot of time for community input. Mr. <br />
