Pequot Lakes Police Dept. <br /> Report to the City Council <br /> March 27,2008 <br /> So far for the month of March the Department has logged 394 individual ICRs. <br /> Current Activities: <br /> The Reserves, Part time and Full time Officers conducted 616 individual business and home security <br /> checks throughout the month,with 1 open door found. <br /> This coming weekend, during the Annual Reserve Officer Association Conference,the Pequot Lakes <br /> Police Dept. Reserve Unit will be recognized as the Spotlighted State Reserve Unit for the first quarter <br /> of 2008. Craig, Julie, Carl, Garrett and Officer Kate Petersen will represent our Department at the <br /> Conference and the acceptance of the award. <br /> Officer Gartner,along with Councilman Jim Oraskovich attended an award presentation in the cities on <br /> Wednesday, March 26,where the Minnesota State MADD Organization recognized Officer Gartner for <br /> his efforts relating to DWI traffic law enforcement.This is the second time Officer Gartner has received <br /> an award through the MADD program,with the last award in 2006 at the local level here in Crow Wing <br /> County. <br /> Trainings Attended: <br /> Mar. 17-19`": Officers Nangle,Melberg and Murdock all attend Criminal Traffic Patrol for the <br /> Rural Officer training.All three officers reported that it was the best training they <br /> had ever attended. <br /> Upcoming Training: <br /> Mar.27-28'": Officer Petersen will attend a BCA sponsored training called NetSmartz,which <br /> specializes in training officers to investigate cases involving Internet chat rooms, <br /> MySpace,Facebook,etc. <br /> Mar.29`": Reserve Officers;Craig&Julie Friday,Carl Borleis and Garrett Wedan,along <br /> with Officer Petersen will attend the annual MN Reserve Officer Association <br /> Conference. <br /> Respectfully Submitted, <br /> Jerry Braam <br /> Chief of Police <br />
