When asked,Mr. Smith stated that the realtor told him he would be allowed to display <br /> equipment with a sign. <br /> Mr. Smith asked if he could put a single family home on the lot. He has a cabin by <br /> Aitkin. He was told to contact Staff and that a.single family dwelling in a commercial <br /> zone would require a Conditional Use Permit. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> a. Conservation Subdivision Design Ordinance <br /> Mr. Marohn explained the Staff Report. Council Liaison Nagel inquired whether the land <br /> would be sustainable for food production in the future. Mr.Marohn stated that gardens <br /> could be included in the Open Space. Shoreland Conservation Design should be <br /> discussed in the future. Staff was directed to schedule the public hearing. <br /> b. Official Road Plan Update <br /> Mr. Marohn explained that Tim Bray, MN/DOT Project Manager, stated at the Highway <br /> 371 Subcommittee meeting that they are in the process of completing the EIS and plan to <br /> have the final alignment by the end of the summer, 2008. Once the final alignment is <br /> established, the City can protect the corridor by Ordinance. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> a. Uses in the DMU Zone <br /> Mr. Marohn explained that uses that should be allowed in the DMU are not included on <br /> the Land Use Matrix,such as Retail. Staff was directed to bring back recommended <br /> changes to the Matrix. <br /> b. Economic Development Committee Business Inventory <br /> Mr. Marohn explained he attended,the EDC meeting on Tuesday where this Business <br /> Inventory was presented. Each Planning Commission member received a copy. The <br /> EDC did a tremendous job preparing this report. This Inventory contains useful <br /> information that the Planning Commission can use in the future. <br /> There may be an error on the number of years Gloria Dei has been in Pequot. <br /> Councilman Nagel suggested some type of joint meeting with the Park Board may be <br /> beneficial. <br /> Mr. Woog reminded Staff that the Council Minutes used to be included in the Planning <br /> Commission packets. He suggested including the Minutes of the Park Board also. <br /> Roles and Responsibilities were to be presented to a joint meeting of the Council and <br /> Planning Commission.
