ItiF
; P equot L a k es Police Department
IVO
Memo :
N
DATE: Feb 27, 2008
TO: Pequot Lakes City Council
FROM: Jerry Braam, Chief of Police
As a result of the resignation of Holly Ailts, I am requested that the
Council approve the hiring of a new Part-time Officer. As with the
current Part-time Officer positions, this would be classified as a limited
part-time position and pay would be according to the City of Pequot
Lakes current 2008 pay scale.
I am recommending the Council approve the hiring of Brandon Silgjord
for this position. Brandon is currently a Part-time jailer for Morrison
County Sheriffs Dept. Brandon has passed the MN POST Exam and
has passed all the requirements to be a licensed Peace Officer in the
State of Minnesota. He has successfully completed the required
Criminal History check along with a thorough background check
conducted by our Police Dept.
We currently have 2 part-time officer positions and this hiring would
move that number of part time officers up to 3. This position would be
used to fill in for vacation and time off requests.
Resp• tfully submitted,
■
Jer : aam
Chief of Police
