Pequot Lakes Police Dept. <br /> Report to the City Council <br /> February 27, 2008 <br /> So far for the month of February the Department has logged 445 individual ICRs. <br /> Current Activities: <br /> The Reserves, Part time and Full time Officers conducted 402 individual business and home security <br /> checks throughout the month, with 2 open doors found. <br /> Reserve Officers continue to assist with crowd control during several school events, including both the <br /> girls and boys PLHS home basketball games. <br /> During the Reserve Officer Association Conference at the end of March, the Pequot Lakes Police Dept. <br /> Reserve Unit will be recognized as the selected State Reserve Unit spotlight. <br /> Upcoming Training: <br /> Mar. 17 - 19th: Officers Nangle, Melberg and Murdock will attend Criminal Traffic Patrol for the <br /> Rural Officer training. <br /> Mar. 27 - 28th: Officer Petersen will attend a BCA sponsored training called NetSmartz, which <br /> specializes in training officers to investigate cases involving Internet chat rooms, <br /> MySpace, Facebook, etc. <br /> Mar. 29th: Reserve Officers; Craig & Julie Friday, Carl Borleis and Garrett Wedan, along <br /> with Officer Petersen will attend the annual MN Reserve Officer Association <br /> Conference. <br /> Significant Case: <br /> Officer Gartner had our Department's first DWI arrest involving a driver of a snowmobile; the stop was <br /> initiated because of the driver's failure to stop for the stop sign before crossing a street while using the <br /> Paul Bunyan Trail. <br /> Respectfully Submitted, <br /> Jerry Braam <br /> Chief of Police <br />
