• February 19 —Monthly Economic Development Committee meeting—
'` 8:00 a.m.
• February 21 —Regular Monthly Planning Commission meeting— 6:30
p.m.
• February 26 — Special Economic Development Committee meeting—
8:00 a.m.
Notes:
• The MPCA held an Administrative Training workshop on February 5
at their Brainerd office and Staff attended the daylong session. This
was one of several mandatory training sessions held throughout
Minnesota. Minnesota Rules, Chapter 7080 has been updated and
now includes Chapters 7080, 7081, 7082 and 7083 which went into
effect on February 4. These changes will be phased in over the next
three years. The City will ultimately need to adopt a new SSTS
Ordinance. The County will have two years to adopt a new ordinance
reflecting the code changes. The City will need to complete our
ordinance changes within one year after the County adopts their
ordinance. Staff plans to work closely with the County during their
ordinance review. Staff will be required to attend additional training
in order to be certified as an Advanced Inspector.
• Staff met with Gary Giltner, Water/Wastewater Supervisor, and
discussed the objectives and goals included in the Wellhead
Protection Plan that have been met and those that need to be
completed. We plan to pull the Wellhead Team together in March,
including our Sourcewater Protection Specialist from Minnesota Rural
Water, Mark Wettlaufer.
• Staff is nearing completion of the address list update for the 2010
Census. Our E-911 list is being updated at the same time.
Completed February 27, 2008 2
