BRAINERD LAK S AREA DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION Memorandum To: Pequot Lakes City Representatives From: Elissa Rogers,Brainerd Lakes Area Development Corporation Re: Business Park Lot Purchase Request for TruGreen Date: February 13,2008 Company Information TruGreen of Pequot Lakes,MN is a locally owned franchise of The TruGreen Company, a lawn care and tree and shrub care company.The Pequot Lakes TruGreen has been operating since 1986.Scott Snyder became a partner in the company in 1997 and purchased 100%of the business in 2006. TruGreen is franchised to service Cass,Crow Wing,Morrison,Beltrami,Todd,Hubbard,Itasca, and Mille Lacs counties.The TruGreen Company leads in the development of new technology for lawn and landscape care.The TruGreen organization has also taken an active leadership role in developing and supporting sound environmental practices and regulatory policies.Scott and Wendy are committed to sustainable and responsible practices and products.All lawn specialists at TruGreen are licensed and certified by the State of Minnesota and participate in continuing education in order to maintain that certification. Project Information TruGreen is proposing to purchase Lot 3 of Block 4 in the Pequot Lakes Business Park for $43,900 or approximately$26,933/acre.(See the Pequot Lakes Business Park map attached.) Scott and Wendy feel this request is reasonable considering the pricing research they have done on the business park lots in Pine River,Jenkins,and Pequot Lakes.Their company has matured in Pequot Lakes and they would like to remain in the City.The purchase of the Business Park lot and the new facility will allow the Snyder's to relocate their business from leased space on Rae Avenue in Pequot Lakes.This move will also allow for Scott and Wendy to add employees, room for equipment,and expand their business to meet demand.
