City Council Minutes <br /> April 5,2022 <br /> • Page 2 of 9 <br /> 4. Open Forum <br /> Brad Moser, former employer of Pequot Lakes Housing and Redevelopment <br /> Authority addressed the Council and stated the HRA Director held a meeting in <br /> violation of his rights to have a meeting with a quorum consisting of the HRA <br /> Board. He discussed his termination with the Council. He felt like his personal <br /> issues should not be used against him and his termination was due to him using <br /> PTO for these personal issues. He discussed his benefits were being withheld <br /> from the employer and he wanted to make the City Council aware of his <br /> concerns since they appoint the board members to the HRA. <br /> Joe Klatt from Snarky Loon, 3348 State Hwy 371, Jenkins MN addressed the <br /> Council and requested changes be made to the City Ordinance to allow them to <br /> come in and participate in events. The City Council stated that they would like to <br /> do some research and put this as an agenda item for May 2022. <br /> Jeanie Haurum, Northern Treasures, presented a possible flag design for the <br /> City of Pequot Lakes. She would like to see the flag in the park and potentially in <br /> businesses. She would like to see the flag be official. The Council stated that <br /> they would do some research on the process that would need to be followed to <br /> make the flag official. <br /> Ill 5.1. Splash Pad Fundraising Update • <br /> Jenni Gonczy gave an overview of the fundraising efforts: <br /> • $51,163 cash in hand which does not include Park Dedication Funds <br /> • PTA Money for the School "Coin Wars" is $2,539; 3rd Grade earned $954 <br /> dollars of that and had a Dilly Bar Party with the Mayor for being the <br /> highest earners <br /> • 6 more pavers sold with a couple big ones sold <br /> • Will receive 3 checks from the Jaycees <br /> • Tasty Pizza fundraiser will be on August 28th <br /> • Dakota Business Solutions will provide a mailing for the fundraiser <br /> • Discount VIP business punch cards <br /> • Website is up and running <br /> • Community Garage Sale—May 14th at the Cole Memorial Building <br /> • Inquiries about benches—Council consensus for benches <br /> The Council thanked Ms. Gonczy for her hard work so far and her updates. <br /> 5.2. Public Hearing— Forcemain/PER Facility Plan <br /> Mayor Gardner opened the public hearing at 7:10 p.m. <br /> Tim Houle stated MN Pollution Control Agency a possible funding partner and <br /> • review agency requires a public hearing and that there was notice in the <br /> newspaper for this hearing. He stated that in the future Widseth may work with <br /> City Staff to send individual notices to property owners of the of the proposed <br />
