City Council Minutes <br /> March 1,2022 <br /> Page 3 of 6 <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RONNING MOVED TO APPROVE THE CONTRACT <br /> PENDING FINAL VETTING BY THE CITY'S LEGAL TEAM AS ALL MAJOR <br /> DETAILS HAVE BEEN AGREED UPON BY BOTH ENTITIES. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER SEILS SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 8. Police <br /> 8.1 Police Department Monthly Report <br /> The January 2022, Police Department Monthly Report was received by Council. <br /> Chief Kiang updated the Council regarding the potential full time officer hire. <br /> 8.2. Request to Hire Part-Time Police Officer <br /> Chief Kiang requested the Council approve hiring Tim Friis as a Part-Time Police <br /> Officer. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVED TO HIRE TIM FRIIS AS A PART- <br /> TIME POLICE OFFICER. COUNCIL MEMBER SEILS SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 9. Public Works <br /> 9.1. Public Works Report <br /> The January 2022, Public Works Monthly Report was received by Council. <br /> 9.2. Splash Pad Readiness Quotes/ Estimate Update <br /> Mayor Gardner presented the staff report. <br /> Council Member Pederson presented pricing for electrical work, electrical box, <br /> class 5 and black dirt donation from Anderson Brothers, excavating, water and <br /> waterline hook-ups, walking path repair and engineering costs. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding giving the Park Dedication funds to the splash pad <br /> build, donations/fundraising efforts and other funding options. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVED TO EARMARK THE PARK <br /> DEDICATION FUNDS TO BUILD THE SPLASH PAD. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> RONNING SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-1. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER SEILS OPPOSED. <br /> 9.3. Cooperative Road Proiect Study Final Report <br /> Mayor Gardner presented the staff report. <br />
