Pequot Lakes Police Dept. <br /> Report to the City Council <br /> January 30, 2008 <br /> So far for the month of January the Department has logged 430 individual ICRs. <br /> Current Activities: <br /> The Reserves, Part time and Full time Officers conducted 140 individual business and home security <br /> checks throughout the month, with 2 open doors found. <br /> Reserve Officers have been assisting with crowd control during several school events, including both <br /> the girls and boys PLHS home basketball games, dance line competition and hockey games. Five <br /> Reserve Officers participated in providing crowd control on Gull Lake during the 18th Annual Ice Fishing <br /> Extravaganza. <br /> Training: <br /> Jan. 23 -25th: Officer Kate Petersen attended MN Juvenile Officers training in Duluth, MN. <br /> Jan. 23 - 24th: Officer Gartner attended Interpersonal — Intergenerational Employee <br /> Relationship training in Bemidji, MN. <br /> Upcoming Training: <br /> Mar. 17 - 19th: Officers Nangle, Melberg and Murdock will attend Criminal Traffic Patrol for the <br /> Rural Officer training. <br /> Mar. 27 - 28th: Officer Petersen will attend a BCA sponsored training called NetSmartz, which <br /> specializes in training officers to investigate cases involving Internet chat rooms, <br /> MySpace, Facebook, etc. <br /> Significant Cases: <br /> During the month of January three previous DWI cases were concluded through the court system, <br /> which resulted in the forfeiture of 3 vehicles to the Department. The department now has ownership of <br /> two motorcycles and a Chevy Blazer. <br /> The Department received $ 400.00 worth of equipment in the form of Fatal Vision Goggles from <br /> participation in the Safe and Sober program in 2007.
