CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES COUNTY OF CROW WING STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO.22-13 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING AND AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR SOURCEWELL COMMUNITY IMPACT FUNDING FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENTS GRANT SUBMITTAL. WHEREAS, Sourcewell has a grant program that offers local government entities to fund initiatives that can have community wide impacts;and WHEREAS,The City of Pequot Lakes is the sponsoring agency submitting a Sourcewell Grant application;and WHEREAS,the funding requests have to show a public purpose and benefit the region;and WHEREAS,this funding is for a public purpose and will benefit the local community and the region; and WHEREAS,the Pequot Lakes Police Department's Crisis Intervention and De-Escalation Training Through Virtual Reality project is an initiative developed by the Pequot Lakes Police Department and approved by the City Council to improve the ability of local law enforcement officers to respond to high stress and volatile incidents involving mental health and people in crisis; and WHEREAS,this proposal supports multiple public-benefits including the health,safety,and education of the Pequot Lakes community and across the region regarding public safety;and WHEREAS,the Pequot Lakes Police Department would collaborate with other area police departments including the City of Breezy Point Police Department,to maximize the number of officers participating in the project. NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES,MINNESOTA HERBY SUPPORTS AND AUTHORIZES THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR SOURCEWELL COMMUNITY IMPACT FUNDING TO SUPPORT THE CRISIS INTERVENTION AND DE-ESCALATION TRAINING PROJECT.
