LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES MARCH 8T", 2022 <br /> The meeting was called to order at 4:30 PM by chair, Mark Jurchen. <br /> Attendees: Courtney Gran, Council Liaison Scott Pederson, Rene Moody, Faith Kimbler, Mark <br /> Jurchen,Angie Duus, and Ann Hutchings. Also, guests Joell Tvedt, Community Education <br /> Director and Stacey Paulbeck, Crow Wing Master Gardeners were present. <br /> Smart Room and Coordinated Activities: An extensive discussion of the prospective "smart <br /> room"was undertaken and how it could be utilized with coordinated activities with Community <br /> Education and Master Gardeners. The attached Library Smart Room update was reviewed with <br /> the 14 items discussed. Joell suggested that members of the board tour the facility at the <br /> meeting room at the school to see what technology is utilized there. Also discussed in <br /> reference to coordinated activities were: <br /> Zoom presentations on gardening. <br /> Children's gardening sessions. <br /> Fire Tower Tours and references at the library. <br /> Programs for 4-H clubs in our community. <br /> Seminars and educational presentations such as "The Assassination of JFK". <br /> Photography <br /> Art Classes and painting. <br /> STEM Program—Under 5 activities. <br /> SNAP Circuit along with On-line testing. <br /> Joell indicated they would like to utilize the meeting room for the presentation on Kennedy's <br /> assassination in March. She will check in with Nancy Adams on scheduling the event. <br /> Then consensus was very positive on the groups working together in the future to provide <br /> various additional joint programs at the library facility. <br /> Election of Officers: Courtney moved and Faith seconded a motion to cast a unanimous ballot <br /> electing Mark Jurchen as Chair and Rene Moody as Vice Chair. Motion passed. <br /> Minutes of December Meeting: Faith moved and Rene seconded a motion to approve the <br /> minutes as written and distributed via email prior to the meeting. Motion carried. <br />
