Economic Development Committee <br /> November 20, 2007 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> The Committee reviewed the flow chart from BLADC. Discussion was held <br /> regarding members of the Economic Development Committee meeting with <br /> applicants and also having a welcoming person and contact person available for <br /> applicants. It was suggested that the Economic Development Committee needed <br /> to be more involved and that it should be noted in the flow chart. <br /> The Committee thanked Dawn for putting together the Planning and Zoning lists. <br /> The Committee requested that all the lists be reviewed by the Planning <br /> Commission and Staff members. <br /> 6. Business Updates <br /> Precision Water Jet <br /> Mark Jurchen informed the Committee that Precision Water Jet has <br /> determined that Pequot Lakes Industrial Park does not have enough space <br /> for its business. Alyssa indicated that they are pursuing Jenkins at this <br /> time. Dawn Bittner indicated that the Planning Commission will be <br /> amending the ordinance to reduce the side yard setback which would be a <br /> benefit to Precision Water Jet and other businesses in the business park. <br /> Diamond Willow Assisted Living Update <br /> Cathy Malecha informed the Committee that Diamond Willow is still <br /> considering locating in Pequot Lakes. <br /> 7. Marketing <br /> Nancy Adams presented the Committee with a visitors guide from Mt. Vernon, <br /> Iowa. She noted that this is something the Committee could pursue for Pequot <br /> Lakes. Nancy also presented the Committee with a draft business survey. She <br /> indicated that the survey could be used to find out what businesses are located in <br /> the City. Justin indicated that the Committee should check with the Chamber of <br /> Commerce to be sure we are not duplicating efforts. The Committee felt the <br /> business survey was a good idea and also to move forward with the visitor's guide <br /> project. <br /> The Committee members were asked to review the business survey and to come <br /> to the next meeting with suggestions on the survey. <br /> 8.
