Pequot Lakes Police Dept. <br /> Report to the City Council <br /> December 31, 2007 <br /> For the month of December the Department has logged 415 individual ICRs. <br /> Current Activities: <br /> The Reserves, Part time and Full time Officers conducted 687 individual business and home security <br /> checks throughout the month, with 6 open doors found. <br /> Reserve Officers assisted with crowd control during both the girls and boys PLHS home basketball <br /> games, as well as a regional wrestling tournament. Reserve Officers attended CPR/AED training here <br /> at the PD in preparation for the new AED the Dept will have available for when the reserves are on <br /> patrol. <br /> The Pequot Lakes Police Dept. Reserve Unit has been selected by the Minnesota Police Reserve <br /> Officer Association as the "Spotlight Unit" for the first quarter of 2008 and will be featured in the <br /> Associations March of 2008 Magazine, as well as being recognized at the annual Association <br /> Conference. <br /> Officer Josh Gartner was recently awarded the Heart Saver Award by North Memorial Ambulance <br /> service for the resuscitation of a heart attack victim that took place on December 17th. As of Dec. 28th, <br /> the victim was recovering quite well and in therapy. During the evening of December 17th, there were 3 <br /> separate incidents of heart attacks within a 1.5 hours period in the City of Pequot Lakes, the second <br /> `, and third taking place within 10 minutes of each other, while a fourth was also reported within that same <br /> 10 minutes in the City of Breezy Point. Officer Gartner also responded to the other two incidents in <br /> town. <br /> Training: <br /> Jan. 23 - 25th: Officer Kate Petersen will attend training in Duluth, MN specialized for School <br /> Resource Officers. <br /> Significant Cases: <br /> During the month of December several of the Full and Part time Dept's Officers participated in multiple <br /> Safe and Sober shifts during the Holidays. <br /> Respectfully Submitted, <br /> do. , /3...-6.cr_444--- <br /> Jerry Braam <br /> Chief of Police <br />
