EDC Minutes February 15, 2022 Page 3 of 4 10. City Marketing Video Chair Lottman stated the Council has approved Blaizair to edit a city marketing video for 2022. 11. County Appraisal Update Mr. Spiczka stated that the County will come out with current assessments in March 2022 and the County Commissioner would be willing to attend a future meeting. COMMISSIONER REICK MOVED TO INVITE THE COUNTY ASSESSOR TO THE NEXT EDC MEETING. COMMISSIONER BECKLIN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. 12. BLAEDC Update Tyler Glynn stated BLAEDC is losing their Office Administrator at the end of the month. Mr. Glynn met with the Regional Director with Excel energy regarding the building in the HOTGL. Mr. Glynn stated that supply issues have created delays on the build and Excel would like to be open by the spring. Consensus of the Commission is to have Excel Energy come to an EDC meeting after they have completed work to give an update on their region. Mr. Glynn stated the daycare funds will be disbursed this week. The program is creating 200 daycare slots in Crow Wing County. Mr. Glynn stated the Legislative session will determine the fund availability for several different programs. 13. City of Jenkins Update Commissioner Luebke stated the City of Jenkins is working with Ideal and Jenkins Townships regarding broadband in the area. Commissioner Luebke also said that Jenkins is looking into bonding for projects, which the city has never done before. Commissioner Luebke attended the League of MN Cities advanced leadership training. Commissioner Luebke is also on Region 5 Board of Directors. 14. Other Business No other business. 15.
