Park Commission Minutes <br /> January 13, 2022 <br /> Page 2 <br /> • The splash pad consists of three vertical risers, eleven geysers, and four <br /> safe swaps (for future feature upgrades) <br /> • Jeff Cornea will contact the MN Department of Health regarding the <br /> bathroom regulations. The hope is the Chamber building bathroom will be <br /> sufficient until there is a new facility built closer to the Splash Pad <br /> • Anonymous matching $25,000 donation has come through Community <br /> Action <br /> Discussion ensued regarding down payments and bid, materials, timeline, <br /> design, splash pad mechanics/electricity, bathroom,and/or storage options and <br /> donations. <br /> 5. Trailside Park Holiday Decorations- Recap <br /> Ms. Peterson met with Dawn Bittner, Mayor Gardner, Rich Spiczka and Nick Roy <br /> regarding the holiday decorations in Trailside Park. Ms. Peterson stated that in <br /> the meeting they discussed adding more lights, creating a mayor's tree lighting <br /> ceremony night, and forming a decorations committee. Mayor Gardner will <br /> contact community members to join the committee. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding adding more decorations, brighten up the park, and <br /> franchise fees. <br /> 6. Paul Bunyan Chair <br /> Ms. Peterson stated that she has advertised for bids on Facebook and in the <br /> newspaper but never received any bids, Discussion ensued regarding possible <br /> builders and posting on Facebook to get the word out regarding bids. <br /> 7.1. Santa's Bobbin' into Town Float Recap <br /> Discussion ensued,regarding: <br /> • More people are needed for handing candy out <br /> • Parade heeded to slow down <br /> • Winning the second year in a row <br /> • Thanking the 1890's Choral Group for participating in the parade <br /> • Possibly "upping the game" for the 2023 float, however, no actual <br /> ideas to change the float were given <br /> • Teardown was quick <br /> 7.2. Donation Designation <br /> Ms. Peterson asked the Park Commission where they would like to designate the <br /> $300 first prize from the Santa's Bobbin into Town float. <br />
