EDC Minutes <br /> January 18, 2022 <br /> Page 2 of 2 <br /> 7. Workforce Housing Update <br /> Mr.Jurchen stated there is an article going in the paper regarding the waiving <br /> of SAC/WAC fees. Discussion ensued regarding current homes for sale, Heart <br /> of the Good Life Development, lots available in the"core"area of infrastructure <br /> development,Trailside Estates Development,the possibility of having the <br /> County Assessor come to the city for current pricing and researching small <br /> cottage builds. <br /> 8. 2022 Project Goals <br /> Chair Lottman asked Commission Members for 2022 Project Goals: <br /> • Commissioner Lelwica—(1) Explore redefining the Pequot Lakes HRA <br /> to expand the responsibilities to include redevelopment and <br /> rehabilitation opportunities for Pequot lakes along with rental <br /> management duties and other duties that it currently holds. (2)Present <br /> and successfully encourage the city council to separate the maximum <br /> amount of land from Heart of the Good Life TIF District and redefine it <br /> for housing development. Finalize a recommendation for the land <br /> development and have prepared to present to city council. <br /> • Commissioner Rieck—Continue with the Welcoming Community <br /> Advisory Group and utilize BLAEDC for the$10,000 grant project. <br /> • Chair Lottman presented his goals which were included in the packet <br /> • Commissioner Holley would like to see the BLAEDC, Chamber, <br /> School,-HRA, Council working together to understand the housing <br /> situation. <br /> 9. BLAEDC Update <br /> Tyler Glynn gave an update for BLAEDC: <br /> • He was contacted by a couple for assistance in opening a restaurant in <br /> Pequot Lakes <br /> • BLAEDC is joining forces with SBDC(Small Business Data Center)to <br /> be a satellite location. <br /> • The Child Care funding will be presented to the County Commissioners <br /> next week for final approval. <br /> 10. City of Jenkins Update <br /> No City of Jenkins update. <br /> 11. Other Business <br /> No other business. <br />
