FROM THE OFFICE OF THE CHIEF OF POLICE <br /> New Day Attitude <br /> This is the beginning of a new day. God has given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it or <br /> use it for good. What I do today is very important because I am exchanging a day of my life for <br /> it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving something in its place I have <br /> traded for it. I want it to be a gain, not a loss—good not evil. Success, not failure, in order that I <br /> shall not regret the price I paid for it."—Heartsill Wilson <br /> Welcome to the Pequot Lakes Police Departments annual report. This report will highlight some <br /> challenges and many of the positive accomplishments of the men and women of the police <br /> department. The primary purpose of this report is to provide the community with transparency <br /> in government and to show how we meet the challenges that face our community. This report <br /> offers only a glimpse of the police department's calls for service, arrest data, traffic crash data, <br /> DUI data, and citation data. We again for 2021 have seen a reduction in part one crimes (gross <br /> misdemeanor, misdemeanor) as we did in 2020, this has been a statewide trend. <br /> Due to the many impacts of covid-19 2021 was a challenging year filled with uncertainties not <br /> just from our department but from every person in our community. What was certain this past <br /> year was that residents and businesses still relied on the city of Pequot Lakes essential services. I <br /> look forward as you are to seeing covid-19 in the rearview mirror as we move into 2022. <br /> Our duty and purpose are both a privilege and an honor as we serve the Pequot Lakes <br /> community. We thank the community and our humbled by the support that our community <br /> gives to our police officers.
