PEQUOT LAKES COMMUNITY LIBRARY MONTHLY REPORT
JANUARY 2022
1. We are continuing to put together in job description and notice of intent to hire for the
part-time coordinator position. We anticipate posting for candidates in April or May. It
is vital that our current volunteer coordinator, Nancy Adams is here to work with us
during the selection process.
2. We are still two positions short on our library board and will continue to search for
additional volunteers to fill the slots.
3. The "through the wall" book drop has been ordered and received. The current chair,
Mark Jurchen, has been in contact with Nick to determine if maintenance staff can
install the unit or we need to obtain bids from local contractors to complete the task.
4. Mark Jurchen and Kaye Shcroeder, IT support for the library, met with Joell Tvedt,
Community Education Coordinator,to garner input on the components of the planned
smart room. The meeting was very valuable as we were also seeking additional ideas
about curriculum and use of the smart room. Joell will be able to coordinate many
programs with the library which increase the utilization of the facility and result in an
outreach to our community. Our goal is to expand the programs and increase both
participation and relevancy in our library's presence.
5. The board will continue researching what hardware will be needed to provide up to date
and efficient services of the smart room along with exploring various programs to
initiate for the benefit of all age groups and interests of our patrons.
Respectfully submitted,
Mark Jurchen,Chair
Pequot Lakes Community Library
