YEAR END REVIEW: Once again, the library has had a very successful year. Numbers for material checkouts (circulation), patron visits, and hours donated by volunteers were all up. When masks were required, patrons willingly complied; as did volunteers. We continue to receive $5,000 each year from the Kitchigami Regional Library System for the purchase of new materials. (This is mentioned because the Crow Wing County fund from which this amount comes is not bottomless; the Council needs to be aware of this fact.) Terri Grimes, our Children's Coordinator, once again offered an outstanding Summer Reading Program generously supported by the Loon Lake Town Board, the Breezy Point Women's Club, and Friends of the Pequot Lakes Library. Our weekly Story Time offering for younger children has become a year-around endeavor thanks to Karin Maas who is reading all winter. In addition to last year's installation of the retaining wall and trees in the front yard, library upgrades this year include a paved north parking area. Internet fiber speed is now available in the building and consideration is being given by the Board toward utilization of this amenity in the meeting room area to benefit the community. Friends of the Pequot Lakes Library has been generous in their donations for the north parking lot and sponsoring The Amazing Hoopsters, the children's program offered by the library at the Santa's Bobbin' Into Town event in December. Their gifts are VERY much appreciated. Finally, after 18 years, the position of Library Coordinator/Team Leader will be advertised in March; to be filled when the right person is found. The culture of the Pequot Lakes Library is unique—something that both Volunteers and Patrons truly appreciate and something that, above all else, must be valued and continued. 7Lalkeed- t&t,n1,41 Nancy Adams Library Coordinator
