January 3,2022 Chief Eric Kiang Pequot Lakes Police Department 4638 Main Street Pequot Lakes,MN 56472 Re:Resignation as Police Officer Dear Chief Kiang, My time as a police officer for the Pequot Lakes Police Department has been fulfilling in so many ways, both professionally and personally. I have worked for many law enforcement agencies both in and out of Crow Wing County.My fulfillment comes from the proactive community outreach that Pequot Lakes Police Department is committed too.This has allowed me to build positive relationships with many citizens in the Pequot Lakes community.I have learned a lot from you as Chief and when you were Sheriff.I learned the profession is more than just investigating crimes and arresting people.The profession calls for us to be active in the community,listen to community and business leaders so we can all collaborate and work together to focus on our community needs. I am so grateful for the relationships that I have been able to build while being a police officer for the Pequot Lakes Police Department. I will always cherish those.That is why it is so hard for me to write this letter to inform you of my resignation as a Pequot Lakes Police Officer. I have accepted employment with another law enforcement agency.My last date with Pequot Lakes Police Department will be January 20,2022. The team at the police department that has been put together is one that really focus'on the building community relationships and I couldn't have been more proud to be part of that. I'm excited to follow and continue to watch the positive interactions between the police department and the community. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of that.
