Cl0". 1[IT %rIgrV PCitiof
GROWTH q
INSTITUT# Lakes :-
COUNCIL REPORT
Application: Rezone from Forest Management to Rural Residential
Applicant: William and Ruth Habein
Background Information: The applicant is proposing to rezone the property located
at 4143 County Road 16 from "Forest Management" to "Rural Residential." The subject
property is approximately 25 acres and contains a single family dwelling and six
accessory structures. The property also contains a private sewer system and water well.
All structures on the property are conforming to Rural Residential requirements.
The subject property is bordered to the north, south and west by the City of Jenkins. The
adjacent property located east of the subject property is zoned "Rural Residential." The
future land use map identifies the property as"Forest Preservation."
The Planning Commission has approved subdivide request to divide the subject property
into two tracts. The approval was made contingent on approval of the rezoning request.
a
--...
—C.Rd'I G -
Rezoning of the property to "Rural Residential' is in conformance with the surrounding
neighborhood. Although the future land use map does not identify the subject property
as "Rural Residential," other properties in the vicinity of the subject property are
identified as that classification. The future land use map identifies the subject property
(and incorrectly identifies properties located in the City of Jenkins) as "Forest
Preservation."
Pequot Lakes Council Report Recommendation#2
July 1,2014
