M <br />■ OVERVIEW ON THE REGIONAL ECONOMY <br />The area economy is currently fairly diverse with strong regional retail and healthcare as the largest <br />employers. Hospitality is driven by tourism consisting primarily of seasonal /lower paying service jobs. <br />Manufacturing is reasonably stable but impacted by the overall economy with some losses in wood and <br />plastics products (see below).
