<br />October 2020 Public Works Report <br /> <br />Buildings: <br />- Work was initiated by several of our Contractors with Cares Act Funding projects including: 1) IPS - <br />installing Controlled Access Entry Systems at City Hall 2) Gull Lake Glass - installed the ADA Door <br />at the Cole Memorial Building 3) Hytec Construction – initiated City Hall Entryway deconstruction <br />& reconstruction 4) Advanced Plumbing and Heating – HVAC upgrades on many outdated systems <br />in several city Buildings <br />- Weekly full cleaning and restocking paper in city buildings. <br />- Removed Recycling at City Hall & Clean/maintain Oil Recycling Bin <br />- Conducted Monthly Building Inspections <br />- Grounds maintenance including seasonal pruning <br /> <br />Streets: <br />- scrambled to convert vehicles into ‘plow mode’ while only at 2 staff (2 @ training) <br />- Conducted a full snow plow event on October 21st, minor plow event the next day also. (4” then <br /> 2-3” respectively) <br />- all staff attended Snow Plow Training (2 day trainings) in St. Cloud. This was fully paid by <br />Sourcewell. <br />- a few locates were called in for Mailbox Installation and 911 Signs, then installed <br />- Repaired washouts, and graded gravel roads as needed. <br />- fell and removed a precariously low, overhanging Birch Tree off South Sluetter <br />- ongoing mechanical troubles are being dealt with on our 2003 F350 Pickup currently at Mills for <br />another attempt at remedying faulty breaks <br /> <br />Parks: <br />- pulled garbage cans and benches in town and stored for winter <br />- we barely winterized our irrigation system in time due to unseasonably early winter weather <br />- we were very pleased how our grass reseedings had just enough time to become very well established <br />in targeted areas of rehab in Trailside Park. Particularly in the areas around the Beanhole Pits and Flag <br />Display Boulevards. As described when complaints were received earlier this year, for seedings to <br />properly establish, we simply needed adequate and appropriate moisture windows. <br />- Falls Flag Source installed the Armed Services Flag Display. Concrete work was complete by <br />Rickard and Sons. <br /> - staff diligently worked on Holiday Lighting projects <br />- staff is investigating another failing flag light on our US Flag, recently discovered.
