<br /> <br />CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES <br />RESOLUTION 20-__ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESSMENTS FOR <br />UNPAID SERVICE CHARGES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to proper notice duly given as required by law, the City Council of the <br />City of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, met on the 10th day of November, 2020, for the purpose of <br />considering assessing costs incurred by the City against the real estate benefited pursuant to <br />Minnesota Statutes, sections 366.012, 415.01, 429.101, 444.075 and 514.67 and Pequot Lakes <br />City Code, sections 5-6.5(4), 7-2.7, 13-2.4, and 15-2.4. The unpaid charges relate to one or more <br />of the following: water and sewer service, repair/replacement of water meters, water tap fees, <br />storm sewer charges, the removal of rubbish, junk, debris, weeds or snow/ice from the property, <br />or other miscellaneous unpaid charges pursuant to applicable law; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing was held pursuant to said notice as part of the above-referenced <br />City Council meeting; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the assessment roll and other matters brought before the City Council were duly <br />considered. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PEQUOT <br />LAKES, MINNESOTA that <br /> <br />1. The assessment roll, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, is <br />hereby accepted and adopted, shall constitute a special assessment against the lands <br />described, and each tract of land is hereby found to be benefited in the amount of the <br />assessment levied against it and such amount is found to be reasonable under the City’s <br />regulatory authority. <br /> <br />2. The owner of the property assessed may, at any time prior to certification to the Land <br />Services Director, pay the assessment to the City Administrator. <br /> <br />3. The City Clerk/Treasurer shall forthwith transmit a certified copy of said assessment <br />roll to the Land Services Director of Crow Wing County and such assessments shall be <br />collected and paid in the same manner as property taxes, if not paid prior to the time <br />for certification. <br /> <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Pequot Lakes this 10th day of November, 2020. <br /> <br /> <br /> ________________________________ <br /> James Tayloe <br />ATTEST: Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />__________________________________ <br />Angie Duus <br />City Clerk/Treasurer
