SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL <br />THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2020 <br />PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL <br /> <br /> <br />Members Present: Mayor Tayloe, Council Members Pederson, Seils and Swanson <br /> <br />Staff Present: Angie Duus, City Clerk/Treasurer <br /> <br />Also Present: Liza Donabauer, David Drown Associates <br /> <br /> <br />1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> <br /> Mayor Tayloe called the special meeting of the Pequot Lakes City Council to <br />order at 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br />1.1 Pledge of Allegiance <br /> <br /> Mayor Tayloe led with the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />2. Administrator Interviews <br /> <br />Liza Donabauer from David Drown Associates discussed the selection process of <br />finalists for the City Administrator position. She informed the Council of the <br />feedback that was received for each finalist. The Council was impressed with the <br />amount of comments received. <br /> <br />The Council discussed the results of the interviews, qualifications of the <br />interviewees and the community feedback received. The Council noted that they <br />would have confidence in both Richard Spiczka and Kyle Box as a City <br />Administrator. After deliberation the Council unanimously supported the decision <br />to hire Richard Spiczka. <br /> <br />COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVED TO OFFER THE POSITION OF <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO RICHARD SPICZKA, TO DELEGATE THE <br />PERSONNEL COMMITTEE TO DRAFT AN EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT, <br />AND TO AUTHORIZE LIZA DONABAUER TO NEGOTIATE THE TERMS OF <br />THE AGREEMENT WITH RICHARD SPICKA AND THAT THE FINAL <br />AGREEMENT WILL BE PRESENTED TO THE CITY COUNCIL AT THE <br />NOVEMBER COUNCIL MEETING. COUNCIL MEMBER SEILS SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br /> Adjournment <br /> <br />There being no further business, COUNCIL MEMBER SWANSON MOVED TO <br />ADJOURN. COUNCIL MEMBER SEILS SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />The meeting of the City Council adjourned at 10:30 A.M. <br />
