Attachment #2 reflects additional cuts suggested <br />by Staff. If the Council decides that additional cuts in the <br />budget are necessary, these cuts may be used. <br />If the Council decides to use these cuts, the following <br />results would be recognized: <br />• The 2010 tax levy would beat $1,431,000 <br />• A decrease of 2.92% from the 2009 tax levy ($43,000 <br />less than the 2009 levy) <br />• A General City tax rate of 66.646% (1.632% increase <br />from 2009) <br />• A Rural Service tax rate of 33.323% (0.816% increase <br />from 2009) <br />The Council will be holding a public hearing to discuss the <br />proposed final budget and tax levy on December 1. Staff <br />will need specific direction on having the budgets prepared <br />for this meeting. A proposed final levy amount and budget <br />numbers will be required for this meeting. If this cannot be <br />accomplished on November 3rd, a special meeting will need <br />to be held sometime in November. <br />Council Action Requested: Council decision on proposed <br />final budget numbers and levy amount to present at the <br />December 1' budget public hearing. <br />116%. <br />
