City of <br />�- <br />Pequott <br />Lakes— <br />AGENDA ITEM #11.1. <br />REPORT TO <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />Date: November 3, 2009 <br />Subject: Request by Esther Fruth for additional off -sale <br />liquor license <br />Report: Attached is a request to the City from Esther <br />`- Fruth to issue an off -sale liquor license for Brambleberry <br />Farms. <br />Back rround: In 2007 the Council received a request for an <br />additional off -sale liquor store. The Council discussed this <br />issue at two meetings and ended up tabling the issue. <br />Attached are the minutes from those two meetings. <br />The State Statute allows cities to determine the number of <br />off -sale licenses it wants to issue unless the City is a First - <br />Class City (over 100,000 in population). The City's <br />ordinance currently allows two off -sale licenses. The two <br />licenses now are Oasis Liquor and Pestello's. The Oasis <br />Liquor is truly an active off sale establishment. Pestello's <br />on the other hand, sells liquor off sale from his on -sale <br />
