11. Personnel report:
a.
Reviewed active shooter policy with Breezy Point police chief
and Eagle View school policy and what our role would be
b.
Chokecherry pancake breakfast- not a success, will try again next year
c.
Purchased a used double convection oven for $1200.00 to be used for
breakfasts and other needs
d.
Helped with the Breezy Point community fest
e.
Received $100.00 donation from Art and Joanne Weaver
f.
Received our new hurst tool cutter and spreader, unit is more powerful,
lighter weight, uses less toxic oils, and quieter, cost about $16,000.00
g.
Sponsored the fire safety program at Eagle View for fire prevention
h.
Hosted a fire prevention open house at our PL station, well attended, served
175 hot dogs, similar activities as previous year
i.
Conducted a department survey on what our most critical needs are, resulted
in better air masks and a grass and brush truck replacement
j.
Will be returning grass truck #2 to the DNR because it is not worth repairing
12. Billing for fire calls policy: have previously discussed not billing and let budget take
care of lost billing revenue; at this time billing for fire
calls will continue
13. Discussion of using all fire incidents instead of just structure calls to determine fire
contract rates, changing our policy would raise rates for smaller townships and cities
and financial impact would affect their rates at a higher percentage; what should fire
board decide to do
14. Any other new business or questions
15. Next meeting planned for January 27, 2010
16. Adjourn meeting
