October 27, 2009 <br />Mayor and City Council <br />City of Pequot Lakes <br />4638 County Road 11 <br />Pequot Lakes, MN 56472 <br />Re: Planning Commission Report <br />Dear Mayor and City Council, <br />COMMUNITYGROWTH <br />I N S T I T U T E <br />Experts in Small Town Planning <br />The Planning Commission met for their regular October meeting, at which there was one public <br />hearing and other various items on the agenda that were discussed. They are forwarding you <br />one item for your review in this report at this time. <br />1. TH 371 Zoning Resolution. For a number of months the Planning Commission has <br />examined zoning alternatives along the Highway 371 Alternate Alignment. While the <br />Comprehensive Plan process will address this issue and incorporate the City's vision, the <br />Planning Commission identified an urgent need for the City to make a clear statement on <br />the intent for land use regulations within this corridor. <br />Staff was directed to prepare a draft resolution that could be sent to the City Council for <br />adoption. That resolution is attached to this report for your review. <br />The Planning Commission recommends the resolution be approved. <br />If you have any questions, concerns or feedback, please do not hesitate to contact me.
