If the Water Oriented Accessory Structure definition is changed, then the Boat House
definition should also be changed for consistency.
The model ordinance definition of Water Orientated Accessory Structures gives several
examples of these structures. The City may choose to use only those examples that
apply for the City. Some examples may not fit with what the City wants to allow.
DNR recommends reviewing Chapter 17—Land Use(Zoning)and Subdivision
Regulations of Pequot Lakes'City Code for any other changes that may need to be
made related to the proposed amendments for Water Orientated Accessory Structures
and definitions for Shore Impact Zones 1 and 2.
Consider reviewing Chapter 17-4.4 Item 6 to make sure it is consistent with these
changes and still incorporates protections the City wants to keep.
Consider amending Chapter 17-5.1 Item 6.E that states"Water orientated accessory
structures, including boathouses,are prohibited."
