City of
Pequott
Lakes—
AGENDA ITEM #4
REPORT TO
CITY COUNCIL
Date: October 13, 2009
Subject: 4 -Day Work Week
Report: Staff has been requested to look into the
possibility of moving to a 4 -day work week.
Nq
Staff has gathered some information on this issue. We have
talked to the League of Minnesota Cities, contacted some
Minnesota cities that have tried the 4 -day week, and talked
to our insurance agent.
Some advantages of a 4 -day work week are:
• City hall would be open earlier and later than the
normal hours — making business more accessible to
the public.
• There could possibly be some overtime savings.
• There would be minor savings in heat and electricity.
• Work comp claims would perceivably be reduced.
OR
