M
M
-..
Level Network
Work Plan FJ.,'
A Level 3 Network Community includes 10 hours per month of professional planning assistance.
These are hours dedicated to provide planning assistance to the City of Pequot Lakes.
How Community Growth Institute will provide services.
The Network Community Program provides the foundation of the service we provide. As a Level 3
Network Community, Pequot Lakes officials would enjoy all of the benefits of an entire planning
department, including:
• Unlimited priority access to professional planners with expertise in all aspects of planning,
including transportation, recreation, environmental systems, economic and community
development, housing; land use and mapping.
• Timely planning information available on a community information website, (www.pequot
planning.info), including all staff reports (typically one week prior to the meeting), meeting
minutes, maps, and applications. An email distribution list that keeps residents, and any
interested party, informed.
• Ordinances, regulations, and procedures that are kept current with changes in state law,
interpretations of the courts, and accepted planning practice.
• A planning newsletter that specifically addresses the issues and challenges impacting fast - growing
small towns.
• Discounted planning time from the Institute's Planning Team.
The Level 3 Network Community includes 10 hours a month of professional planning time, which is an
effective rate of $70 /hour. Any time over 10 hours per month is discounted 15% off of our standard
rate of $92 /hour. Support from our Administrative Staff is at $45 /hour.
We envision utilizing the monthly planning hours to:
■ Prepare a Parks and Recreation Plan to conform to changes in state law regarding park
dedication fees,
• Ordinance amendments, as requested by the City Council and Planning Commission
• Violation assistance, as requested by Staff,
• Meet with property owners, public officials, and developers as requested;
• Perform specialty mapping work as requested;
• Perform any other planning functions, as requested.
We will provide detailed invoices for all work performed in the Network Communities program, leaving
no question on how a service was performed. We have a history of working with communities to meet
budgets and effectively balance costs with service, sacrificing neither.
0
