MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL <br />TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2009 <br />PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL <br />Members Present: Mayor Adams, Council Members Malecha, Nagel, Ryan, and <br />Sjoblad <br />Staff Present: Sandy Peine, City Clerk; Jerry Braam, Chief of Police; Dawn <br />Bittner, Zoning Administrator; Mike Loven, Public Works <br />Supervisor; Nancy Malecha, Finance Administrator; and <br />Chuck Marohn, Planning Consultant <br />Call Meeting to Order <br />Mayor Adams called the meeting of the Pequot Lakes City Council to <br />order at 6:00 p.m. <br />1.1 Pledge of Allegiance <br />Mayor Adams led with the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />2. Consider Agenda <br />Mike Loven requested to add an item at the end of the agenda relating to <br />waiving of a building permit fee for the Park Board. The Council <br />concurred. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA AS <br />AMENDED. COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />3. Budget <br />The City Clerk noted that the attached revised preliminary budget reflects <br />amendments the Council made at the August 11th Council meeting. She <br />noted that the attached minutes reflect the "Budget Action Items" which <br />the Council wanted to further discuss. <br />3.1. Preliminary Tax Lew — City Tax Rate <br />The Clerk noted that due to a reduction in the net tax capacity from last <br />year, the city tax rate would see an increase if the City certified the levy at <br />the preliminary levy amount of $1,527,690. She stated that we do not <br />�.. know how this will affect the city tax for Pequot Lakes' property owners as <br />the County will not have this information until later in October. The Clerk <br />stated that the County information shows a reduction in the net tax <br />
