MONTHLY STAFF REPORT City Clerk's Office September, 2009 Meetings City Council Meetings The Council held two Council meeting in August. September 1. 2009 — Council Actions • Approved partial pay estimate #2 to Tri-City Paving for work on the Butler/Woodman Street Projects • Approved partial pay estimate #4 to DeChantal Excavating for work on the South Oak Street Project • Approved change order #3 for the South Oak Street Project • Moved to proceed with a public hearing for a Tax Increment Financing request • Approved a final plat fro Sentinel Office Park • Rezoning approved for Hunt Technologies — Rural Residential to Light Industrial • Adopted an ordinance establishing a Grow Zone • Adopted a resolution to set a public hearing for a street vacation • Approved the purchase of Rescue Tools for the Fire Department • Adopted a resolution in relation to administrative fines • Accepted the resignation of part time officer Adam Murdock • Approved a job description for the position of police sergeant • Set the preliminary general fund tax levy at $1,527,690 • Set the preliminary HRA Levy at $31,000 • Set the date for the final budget and levy hearing for December 1, 2009 • Approved an off -sale liquor license for JM Pequot LLC • Declared September 16'h at American Legion Day Meetings Park Commission The Park Commission minutes are included for your review. The Park Commission met on September 10th. They met at Gildner Park and the Cole Memorial Building. The Park Commission made no decision on park equipment at Gildner Park. They requested the Street Department to clear out the deadwood first so they could get a better feel about the size of the park and potential location for equipment. The Park Board will be having a new sign made for the Cole Memorial Building. The sign will basically replace the existing sign but have a new look. 11%.1 Economic Development Commission
