SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2020 PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL Members Present: Mayor Tayloe, Council Members Pederson, Seils and Swanson Staff Present: Angie Duus, City Clerk/Treasurer Also Present: Liza Donabauer, David Drown Associates 1. Call Meetina to Order Mayor Tayloe called the special meeting of the Pequot Lakes City Council to order at 9:00 a.m. 1.1 Pledae of Alleqiance Mayor Tayloe led with the Pledge of Allegiance. 2. Administrator Interviews Liza Donabauer from David Drown Associates discussed the selection process of finalists for the City Administrator position. She informed the Council of the feedback that was received for each finalist. The Council was impressed with the amount of comments received. The Council discussed the results of the interviews, qualifications of the interviewees and the community feedback received. The Council noted that they would have confidence in both Richard Spiczka and Kyle Box as a City Administrator. After deliberation the Council unanimously supported the decision to hire Richard Spiczka. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVED TO OFFER THE POSITION OF CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO RICHARD SPICZKA, TO DELEGATE THE PERSONNEL COMMITTEE TO DRAFT AN EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT, AND TO AUTHORIZE LIZA DONABAUER TO NEGOTIATE THE TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT WITH RICHARD SPICKA AND THAT THE FINAL AGREEMENT WILL BE PRESENTED TO THE CITY COUNCIL AT THE NOVEMBER COUNCIL MEETING. COUNCIL MEMBER SEILS SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. Adiournment There being no further business, COUNCIL MEMBER SWANSON MOVED TO ADJOURN. COUNCIL MEMBER SEILS SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. The meeting of the City Council adjourned at 10:30 A.M.
