MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br /> TUESDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2020 <br /> Members Present: Chair Lindholm; Commissioners Crochet, Holly, Lelwica, Rieck <br /> attended virtually via Zoom; Commissioner Becklin and Lubke <br /> attended in person. <br /> Members Absent: none <br /> Others Present: Angie Duus, City Clerk/Treasurer; Jennifer Peterson, <br /> Administrative Assistant; Tyler Glynn, BLAEDC; attended in <br /> person. Katie Wasserman and Mark Jurchen attended via zoom. <br /> 1. Call Meetina to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chair Lindholm at 8:02 a.m. <br /> 2. Consider Aqenda <br /> COMMISSIONER LELWICA MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA AS <br /> PRESENTED. COMMISSIONER RIECK SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> ROLL CALL: LINDHOLM —AYE; CROCHET—AYE; HOLLEY—AYE; <br /> LELWICA—AYE; REICK—AYE; BECKLIN —AYE. <br /> 3. Approve EDC Minutes <br /> Commission will approve the August 18, 2020 and September 15, 2020 <br /> Economic Development Commission minutes at the October 20, 2020 meeting. <br /> COMMISSIONER RIECK MOVED TO APPROVE THE AUGUST 18, 2020 AND <br /> SEPTEMBER 15, 2020 MEETING MINUTES AS PRESENTED. <br /> COMMISSIONER CROCHET SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED <br /> 6-0. <br /> ROLL CALL: LINDHOLM —AYE; CROCHET—AYE; HOLLEY—AYE; <br /> LELWICA—AYE; LUBKE—AYE; REICK—AYE; BECKLIN —AYE. <br /> 4. Multi-iurisdictional Broadband Discussion <br /> Commissioner Lubke gave an update from the collaborative meeting with Region <br /> 5 regarding how to get broadband to our Communities. Commissioner Crochet <br /> stated TDS is investing in installing 55 miles of fiber in Pequot Lakes, Breezy <br /> Point, Jenkins, Pine River, Backus and Hackensack. Commissioner Lubke <br /> inquired if areas want to add infrastructure, can a community work with private <br /> funding to extend the service. Commissioner Crochet will put Comnnissioner <br /> Lubke in touch with an individual with TDS. Ms. Wasserman stated there is a <br />
