I.... <br />Park Board Minutes <br />August 13, 2009 <br />Page 2 <br />------------------- - - - - -- <br />Keep the sign verbiage to a minimum as it would be hard to read at 35 <br />mph. <br />Faye Tweed stated she will have a concept of the sign drawn up to give <br />back to the Historical Society to get their approval. <br />5. Sibley Lake Garden — Clean or Tear Down? <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER JOHNSON TO TEAR <br />DOWN AND REMOVE THE GARDEN IN SIBLEY PARK. <br />COMMISSIONER CLEMENT SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 5 -0. <br />6. Other Business <br />Gildner Park <br />Commissioner Jurchen stated she was contacted by some residents who <br />would like to be involved in the planning and monitoring of Gildner Park. <br />The board decided to hold next months meeting at Gildner park. Mike will <br />have the setbacks marked before the meeting. Then they can look to see <br />\... how much room they have and what they want to start putting in the park. <br />Then maybe invite the residence's to a meeting so they can hear the <br />discussions. <br />Commissioner DenHartog suggested a plan that would build the park in <br />phases. It was the consensus of the Park Commission to put together a <br />comprehensive plan of the park. <br />Gazebo <br />Malecha suggested someone talk to Crafters Market to see what they <br />would want for their gazebos. <br />Malecha presented the Board with an estimate from UBC showing the <br />cost to renovate the existing gazebo to be used for bands to perform in <br />during the summers. The total cost is $2,107.39. Time Design offered to <br />do construction for free. The Lions offered to contribute $1,000 and Tim <br />Rogenkamp offered to contribute $500. The Park Commission asked if the <br />City would" contribute $600. <br />Lions Club asked if they would be able to have a sign by the gazebo <br />stating the renovation was done by the Lions Club. The Board agreed it <br />should be a permanent one and not a free standing one. <br />�11- <br />
