Pequot Lakes Police Dept. <br />Report to the City Council <br />August 26, 2009 <br />So far for the month of August the Department has logged more than 561 individual ICRs. <br />Current Activities: <br />The Reserves, Part time and Full time Officers have conducted more than 581 individual security <br />checks of businesses and homes so far throughout the month, with only 1 open door found at area <br />businesses. <br />On August 15th the Reserves conducted their 2nd Annual Free Child Fingerprinting event during the <br />Choke Cherry Festival. Unfortunately several events of the festival ended up being canceled because <br />of the rain. Reserves have assisted with Concerts in Park throughout the summer. <br />Officer Petersen assisted Erica O'Brien from HRA with the first National Night Out event that's been <br />organized and held in Pequot. <br />Several officers have had court appearances throughout the month on a variety of cases, from traffic <br />violations to felony Terroristic threats. <br />Significant Cases: <br />• Officers Rich Hogan and Officer Josh Herold responded to the fatality this past weekend on Co <br />Rd 107. Josh Gartner also responded as a Zone 3 First Responder. Kate Petersen assisted the <br />victim's daughter on scene as well. Officer Herold performed CPR along with paramedics from <br />N. Ambulance for nearly 30 minutes but was unable to recessitate the victim. <br />• Officers Petersen and Nangle had a medical call that was originally believed to be a possible <br />food poisoning case with a 14 yr old, which in fact turned out to be a brain aneurism, which had <br />started to bleed.
