September 1, 2009 <br />To: Pequot Lakes City Council Members <br />Nancy Adams <br />Dave Sjoblad <br />Cathy Malecha <br />Craig Nagel <br />Tom Ryan <br />Re: Possible new TIF development <br />\.. <br />I recently learned that a business operator is considering a new grocery store <br />project within the city of Pequot Lakes and they may be lobbying the City <br />for TIF financing. In addition this same business operator may also be <br />approaching the city for an Off —Sale liquor license. I would like to provide <br />a brief comment on both areas. <br />As you know by tonight's agenda we are in the process of <br />acquiring/purchasing the Oasis Liquor store from Joe and Judy Gries. This <br />decision was made large in part to the fact that there are two off sale licenses <br />available within the city limits and Joe and Judy held one. I certainly realize <br />that the City Council can't make decisions solely based on the impact those <br />decisions will have on individual business owners, but please consider the <br />following. <br />
