Pequot Lakes Community Library Board Meeting <br />Location: Little Pine Plaza <br />Tuesday, August 18, 2009 <br />Chairperson John Longnecker called the meeting to order. <br />`„c3oard members present: David Anderson, John Longnecker, Claire Nagel, Sam Hennes, Lydia Loven and Tina <br />Hanneken. Board members absent: Nancy Adams. Visitors present: none <br />A motion was made to approve the July minutes. Sam Hennies made a motion and Claire Nagel seconded that <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />Treasurer's Report by David Anderson: . <br />As of 8/18/09 Total of both accounts: $97, 171.05 <br />Account #l: $33,476.76 Account #2: $63,694.29 <br />Lydia Loven made a motion to approve the Treasurer's report. Claire Nagel seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />Committee Reports: <br />Volunteer Coordinator <br />- Attendance is spectacular. <br />-Book club had 12 -15 in attendance. <br />Old Business- <br />- "Conversation With..." <br />-Joan Haglund — travels to Sweden and Norway <br />- approximately 16 in attendance <br />- Future Idea: Computer class <br />�301(c)(3)- continuing the process <br />- application needs a three year proposed budget <br />-Nancy Cross - Brainerd Community Action — continues to assist us <br />- Articles of Incorporation. have been submitted —now we wait <br />- Friends of the Library- <br />- determine the best way to start this group <br />- Popcorn Machine- generously donated by Harry Olson <br />-state inspection determined a couple of small changes needed to be made <br />New Rusiness <br />- Painting- Cathy Malecha has generously donated her time and skills in coordinating a painting crew <br />- Carpenters- finishing door /wall framing <br />- Carpet -minor changes /seam maintenance <br />- Thurlow's Hardware Store has donated the use of the carpet cleaner /soap <br />-Cathy Malecha volunteered to do the cleaning. <br />Plans for moving —week of September 7th - reopen the 14th <br />- Fundraising— continued discussion <br />-Ideal Beef Feed- $12 contributed at our booth <br />-For the good of the cause — brainstorming ideas <br />junk car- donations - Alumni -band concert -Belt sander races <br />-peach sales -fruit sales - Variety show <br />- chicken poop bingo - Christmas Tea - Polka/Walz Street Dance <br />�'tlaire made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
