Park Commission Minutes I <br /> August 13, 2020 <br /> Page 3 <br /> ------------------------- <br /> Commissioner Churack stated the Dan Devine (with the Pequot Lakes School Art <br /> Department) and a local businessman were out in the spring and hung a piece of <br /> his work and some students work. Commissioner Churack spoke with Mr. Devine <br /> and let him know that the art in the park is for students only and all pieces need <br /> to have a signed waiver from the student with a description or photo of the piece <br /> submitted to the City. Commissioner Johnson inquired if the City supplied the <br /> materials for the pieces. Commissioner Churack stated that Community Action <br /> had supplied the materials. She also let Mr. Devine know#hat if the students are <br /> in need of more materials, he should put a proposal together for Community <br /> Action. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding the beginning of Art in the Park, the regulations and <br /> how to address the issue with a non-student��rk. <br /> Chair Ronning will speak to Mr. Devine �r�� Todd Knutson, Art Director regarding <br /> removing all non-student art by the er�d�o�fi��he monti�#along with how to move <br /> forward with this project. <br /> 8. Liqhtinq of Betsv Ross Flaq <br /> 8.1 Update by Bittner <br /> 8.2 Lighting Estimate <br /> Discussion ensu� r�t��rding the flag��etiquette. Ms. Bittner suggested tabling the <br /> subject until n�Xt montl�.�onsensus was table the subject until next month until <br /> we can do ft�i�t�r resear�h. <br /> 9. Park Cotnmission V��ncV <br /> ��air Ronning�ta#ed we���have a Park Commission vacancy, Barb Sjoblad has <br /> submitted her resigraation. He inquired if any of the Commission had a <br /> st�g�stion for a repl�cement. No one at this time could think of anyone. <br /> 10. Other B�siness <br /> Chair Ronnir�g�►rat�ld like to come up with a plan to pay the Bands in the Park if <br /> they are rained out. Commissioner Boucher stated that because of COVID, we <br /> should at least pay them half. Commissioner Johnson suggested a tiered pay <br /> dependent on the mileage of travel. Discussion ensued regarding the policy for <br /> Bands in the Park, the consensus of the Commission is to re-evaluate the policy <br /> when we are booking bands for 2021. <br /> Chair Ronning inquired if we have been in contact with the gentleman regarding <br /> the Splash Pad. Ms. Bittner stated she has been in contact with Jeff and will keep <br />
