A good intent call is when an individual calls the fire department with
intent they are needed to solve the problem. By the time the fire department arrives at the
scene, they are not needed due to a variety of happenings. A good intent call can be for
just about any reason or type of fire. Last year during this time period the department
answered 13 calls.
There were 5 fire bills sent that total $2070.00.
The training report totaled 16 '/2 hours of training. The unusually high cost for
travel/conference / schools was due to intensive hazmat and bloodborne pathogen classes.
These classes were funded by several state grants that were received by the department in
the amount of over $9000.00. Our financial report is quite favorable at the present.
Adams motioned to approve the financial report, second by Ryan, motion passed.
The City Clerk's office reported to us that all fire bills sent in 2008 have been collected.
The total amount was for $11,205.00.
The new fire department office construction is almost done. The room is painted, wired,
and windows are installed. Light fixtures and the ceiling are not done. The area is not
being used yet.
One fire fighter attended a meeting concerning the new 800 megahertz radio program
which is required by the federal government to be in place by 2013. After 2011, no radios
can be manufactured that use our present frequencies. Crow Wing County is coordinating
