She stated the City is grateful for Mr. <br /> Savino's service on the Planning Commission. <br /> The Council acknowledged Christopher Savino's resignation from the Planning <br /> Commission. <br /> Ms. Malecha informed the Council that the position is currently vacant and it is <br /> posted on the City website and the City's Facebook page. <br /> 7. Fire <br /> The May 2020 Fire Department Operations Report was received by Council. <br /> 7.1. Reauest to Hire Firefiqhters <br /> Tom Nelson said the Fire Department is currently at 24 active Firefighters and <br /> has approval for 30 active Firefighters. Discussion ensued about it being helpful <br /> to have a good pool of volunteers for availability. Fire Chief Tom Nelson asked <br /> the Council authorization to hire Adam Casanova, Colton Hanson, Kyle Krause, <br /> and Travis Pintar as firefighters. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE HIRING OF <br /> �, ADAM CASANOVA, COLTON HANSON, KYLE KRAUSE, AND TRAVIS <br /> PINTAR AS FIREFIGHTERS. COUNCIL MEMBER SEILS SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 8. Police <br /> The May 2020 Police Department Monthly Report was received by Council. <br /> 8.1. Request to Hire Full-Time & Part-Time Police O�cers <br /> Eric Klang recommended to promote Michael Davis from part-time to a full-time <br /> Police Officer position at Grade 13, Step 3. He stated Mr. Davis's background <br /> check has been completed and was successful. <br /> Chief Klang asked that Mackenzie Shelstad who previously worked for the City <br /> as a Reserve Officer be hired as a part-time Police Officer at Grade 11, Step 1, <br /> contingent upon successful background and pre-employment screenings. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SEILS MOVED TO PROMOTE MICHAEL DAVIS TO THE <br /> FULL-TIME OFFICER POSITION AT GRADE 13, STEP 3 EFFECTIVE JULY 7, <br /> 2020. COUNCIL MEMBER SWANSON SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 5-0. COUNCIL <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO APPOINT MACKENZIE <br /> � SHELSTAD AS A PART-TIME POLICE OFFICER POSITION AT GRADE 11, <br /> STEP 1; CONTINGENT ON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A <br />
