Pequot Lakes Police Dept. <br />Report to the City Council <br />June 24, 2009 <br />Currently for the month of June the Department has logged more than 520 individual ICRs. <br />Current Activities: <br />The Reserves, Part time and Full time Officers conducted more than 390 individual security checks of <br />businesses and homes so far throughout the month, with 4 open doors found at area businesses. <br />On May 30th the Reserves conducted their first Dog Clinic at the City Hall, offering area dog owners a <br />chance to get their dog licensed at a discount as well as meet with area businesses that carry products <br />for or conduct services for canines, such as vets, pet supply retailers, trainers. They will host another <br />event this summer at the Jenkins city hall in July as well. <br />The whole Department is gearing up for the 4th of July holiday, anticipating as large if not larger parade <br />spectator crowd. We will be working with neighbors, Breezy Point and Pine River for assistance with <br />traffic control as well as the Reserve Officer unit from Akeley for foot patrol and crowd safety. <br />OR <br />Significant Cases: <br />• 4 DWI arrests. <br />• 2 Narcotics arrests. <br />• Significant Follow up required on several cases started in May. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Jerry Braam <br />Chief of Police <br />
