She also said the will have the food vendors and Water Wars. <br /> Ms. Wassermann stated that they are encouraging businesses to do individual <br /> activities and encourage everyone to follow all the state guidelines of staying <br /> social distancing. <br /> Bean Hole Days will require people to sign up for a time slot for the beans. The <br /> Chamber is offering packages where people can get beans to go. <br /> Commissioner Becklin inquired who would be paying for the Fireworks as well as <br /> where people can donate. Ms. Wasserman stated the Chamber will sell bracelets <br /> to raise the funds, they also received a donation from#he Sibley Lake <br /> Association in the amount of$2000 however the funds are still short $2000. <br /> 8. BLAEDC Update <br /> Mr. Glynn wanted to commend the ED��ommission and City Council,for moving <br /> forward with the Xcel Energy project.��e�'�d BL1�4F�C has a key�cecruitment <br /> program and there are encouraging signs�`i�i�%�,KSyrii�nt opportunities and our <br /> area economy. <br /> �:� <br /> „�. <br /> Mr. Glynn stated they are looking a#a couple loans��r��he.tlJnified Fund which <br /> means businesses are still lookir�� to continue with orr��l plans with potential <br /> expansion and growth. He stated that he is getting les� calls regarding funding <br /> relating to business relief considerations. He said�hat the grant program that <br /> Brainerd kicked ti�f���nded up granting out$90,000. He said they had eight <br /> ,�;. <br /> additional graa#'tt appliG�'�s that did not meet the cutoff and they ran out of <br /> money but-#1��-ainerd; ;� Council last night approved another$24,000 to <br /> provide $3,000 g�ts t �� e other ei�Mt�businesses that had applied. Mr. <br /> Glynn said the Ci�i���ri������,�����lllinnesota Investment Funds that they <br /> were�able to release�,�rant ou�����some of their businesses as well. <br /> Commissioner Lubke inq�i��°virhere the funds came from for the grant program. <br /> Mr. Glynn stated the City of�rainerd held onto MN Investment Funds that did not <br /> get placed into the Unified Fund that they could use for general operations funds. <br /> They were able to utilize those funds for grants to local businesses due to the <br /> impact of COVID-19. The businesses that received the funds did need to utilize <br /> the funds for COVID-19 within a 2 month period and update the City on how the <br /> money was used. <br /> 10. Citv of Jenkins Update <br /> Mr. Lubke stated the County is redoing County Road 145. <br /> 11. Other Business <br /> Mr. Glynn asked the Commission how the activity is in Pequot Lakes. <br /> Commissioners Lelwica and Holley stated there is a lot more traffic in Pequot <br />
